5 TIPS TO ESCAPE EVERY TIME

We all love that feeling of a successful escape. Read our top 5 tips on how to ensure that your escape is successful each time.

If you have ever failed to escape an Escape Room before the timer has run out you will know how traumatic, disappointing, and dejecting it can be. You leave vow never to lose again, next time it will be different.

Here at Fox in a Box, our Game Masters have watched thousands of escapes. Some are successful, some are not. So we have created a simple guide based on what we have witnessed that successful teams have in common.

Follow this guide and let us know if it helped you and your team escape!

1. EXPLORE

Important items are often hidden in plain sight. Before starting on any puzzles ensure that you have looked thoroughly throughout the room.

2. READ

Most items placed in an escape room are put there to help you. Often, the instructions about how to solve a particular puzzle are written in plain sight. Be sure to read everything you find.

3. COMMUNICATE

Two minds are better than one. Swap ideas, double-check each other's answers, and brainstorm potential solutions. You might be aware of a crucial piece of information the rest of your team missed.

4. ORGANISE

Keeping completed puzzles and used items separate from newly discovered clues will help you organize what will help you and what won't.

5. ASK FOR A HINT

There's no shame in checking to see if you're heading in the right direction. You may have overlooked a key component without realizing it. Asking whether you are on the right track can save you unnecessary frustration as you try to solve a puzzle you don't have enough information for. A good rule of thumb is this: if you're stuck on a puzzle for longer than 5 minutes or so you may have overlooked something important.

We hope these handy hints will be useful the next time you play one of our escape rooms. If you'd like to try again then why not book today!
